How Your Actions Influence Others

I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Now get ready because this might offend some people:

Life is not about you.

WOAH. Now maybe you’re thinking, “How dare you say that to me? My followers on Instagram, the likes on my latest Tik Tok and my little siblings who do whatever I tell them to do might beg to differ…”

Yes, I may have bursted some pride bubbles, but hear me out. We are all tempted to make life about us, but if Jesus lived his life as if it was about him, I bet we wouldn’t even know his name 2000 years later. Although making life about us might bring us more money, happiness or popularity, those things won’t last long because you were made for so much more. 

When we make life about loving God and loving others we find joy, purpose and true influence that actually changes people’s lives. The Holy Spirit, Jesus’ powerful presence that comes to live in our hearts when we decide to follow him, gives us the power to live the kind of life that is all about God’s exciting mission. 

The other gift God gives to help us along this journey of influence is his church, other people who believe in Jesus! You weren’t made to do this alone! If you don’t have a mentor, someone who is older, wiser and more mature in their faith than you, who is helping you become more like Jesus, you need to find one! If you don't know where to look, contact us and we will help. You will get further, faster in your life and influence when you have someone who can help you avoid making the mistakes most teenagers (and probably they at your age) did. 

Influencing the world isn’t meant just to make your life better, but to be part of God’s exciting, purposeful plans in transforming the world with his love. YOU are invited to be an important part of that journey and WE are cheering you on along the way!
