God has Wired You to Influence in Specific Ways

Have you ever had the worst day where everything that could go wrong does go wrong? You miss your alarm, you get milk on your favorite shirt, you’re late for class, you fail your math test and see on social media that all of your friends were hanging out and they didn’t even invite YOU?! Sometimes it feels like the odds are against us and we are doomed to fail. 

Joseph knows what that feels like too. All the odds were against Joseph and everything around him tried to deter his life from accomplishing God’s plans. His brothers tried to kill him, he was sold into slavery, and he was wrongfully convicted. 

Yet in the midst of all of it, Joseph's character was refined and he eventually saw that through all the detours, struggles and mishaps, God accomplished his good plans for Joseph's life and saved the lives of many people in the process.

In Ephesians 2:10 we learn that you are God's masterpiece. Everything about who you are is on purpose and God can use everything you’ve gone through for his glory and your good. That includes the classes you get stuck in, the kid you have to sit beside on the bus, your broken family that gets an A+ in fighting, and that relationship that didn’t work out. What the world intends for evil, God will use for good.

Pray about a tricky situation you’re in right now. Ask God to give you the faith to see his good plans unfolding in the midst of it.

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
